Earrings and Bracelets Were the Most Popular Adornment

Few necklaces were worn at the Golden Globe Award show by celebrities this past Sunday. However, the few necklaces that were noted fell into the ornate, stunning category.
Eva Mendes
Dressed in white, this actor wore a spectacular turquoise necklace. As turquoise is a semi-precious gemstone, it’s not often worn for dress-up. However, this was no ordinary turquoise necklace! Designed by Van Cleef & Arpels, it consisted of four layers of turquoise alternating with precious metal beads and diamonds draping down from the neck bone. Attached to the bottom layer were turquoise dangles.
Christina Applegate
Looking radiant, this actor wore a jeweled necklace by Lorraine Schwartz. Applegate’s was an ornate bib-like white gold and diamond floral motif masterpiece that co-ordinated beautifully with her yellow hued gown.
Chandelier Earrings
Big, big, big was the theme of the earrings worn at the Golden Globe Awards. Oversized chandelier earrings were won by Jenna Fischer of the television show The Office. Fischer also wore a stunning draped diamond bracelet by designer Chopard. Taraji P. Henson, who played the mom in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, wore oversized shoulder duster chandelier earrings by designer H. Stern.
Star Shaped Earrings
Celestial style earrings were also very popular. Eva Longoria Parker wore stylized white gold and diamond earrings in the shape of a five-point star. Olivia Wilde of the television show House wore larger earrings with multiple stars soldered together in an oval shape. They looked very heavy and uncomfortable to wear.
Leaf Shaped Earrings
Leaf- and teardrop-shaped earrings were also very popular. These shapes look very attractive hanging down from a post earring. Debra Messing wore a pair of gold teardrops set with a green stone in both the stud and in the teardrop-shaped hanger. The earrings were outlined with diamonds
Evan Rachel Wood worn hanging leaf earrings set with three layers of leaves terminating with three round drops duplicating the look of an upside-down flower. This theme was echoed with fabric appliqués set at the waistline of her dress.
While few celebrities wore necklaces, jeweled belts and handbags were very prevalent. Kristin Scott Thomas wore a brooch!
