The Root or Base Chakra represents the ability to be grounded and living in the here and now. It is the Chakra of physical energy. Associated gemstones include:
Bloodstone - A solid green or green with red flecks stone. It is one of the varieties of quartz labeled chalcedony. It is an electromagnetic stone.
Carnelian - a member of the chalcedony gemstone family. It is a rich clear to brownish red gemstone.
Garnet - in various colors of rich wine red and green.
Hematite - colored by red oxide or iron. The black iridescent crystal is normally used.
Tiger's Eye - color ranges from gray to yellow to reddish brown. Its varied coloring is due to the mixing of quartz with iron.
The Solar Plexus Chakra is the chakra of personal power. It governs the ego, will and control over personal goals and accomplishments. Associated gemstones include:
Aventurine- a green gemstone.
Malachite - also a green gemstone.
Rose Quartz - a beautiful pink gemstone. Its pink coloring is due to traces of the mineral titanium.
The Sacral Chakra is the chakra of sexual expression. Associated gemstones include:
Moonstone - a translucent blue, white or pink gemstone – this effect coming from alternating layers of orthoclase and albite feldspars.
Citrine - a beautfiul golden/clear glassy variety of quartz.
Rutilated Quartz - made from needles of rutile embedded in clear crystal quartz. Straw colored but very lustrous.
The Heart Chakra is the chakra of love and compassion. It is the bridge between the mind and the body. Use the following gemstone to open your Heart Chakra:
Emerald - a brilliant green member of the beryl family of stones. The finest emeralds are true green, transparent with no hint of yellow or blue.
Jade - its most popular color is deep, imperial green. However, jade is also is mined in red.
Rose Quartz can also be used for the heart chakra.
The Throat Chakra is the chakra of self-expression that is the bridge between the mind and the heart. Use the following crystals to balance your Throat Chakra:
Aquamarine - a translucent blue to sea green crystal.
Blue Lace Agate - this gemstone is a beautiful light blue with grayish white bands.
Lapis Lazuli - deep-blue or violet-blue stone sometimes flecked with gold-colored iron pyrite.
