Snake jewelry was very popular with the ancient Greeks and Romans. It was also a dominant design for 19th century jewelry.

The hinge is located mid tail so that the tail flips down for placement on the wrist. Keep the snake trends going with Michael Kor's skinny trapeze mirrored python belt also available at Saks online. It's 1/2 wide with gold tone hardware. $275 Roberto Cavalli at eLuxuryAvailable at select jewelry stores and online at eLuxury, for a more luxe version there’s Roberto Cavalli’s two-headed wooden bangle snake bracelet. It comes in either black/brown or green/onyx. Intertwined, the snake heads point in opposite directions. The wooden bangle part of the bracelet is textured to appear like snake's skin. This bracelet retails for $375. Cavalli also retails a hinged single headed snake bracelet set with light and dark blue enamel scales that is very reminiscent of 19th century snake jewelry. The 19th century version boasted precious gemstone eyes – usually rubies and gold encrusted ‘skin’. The Cavalli version uses gold tone metal and clear Strass brand crystals. Strass is a brand name of extremely fine crystals that are brilliant and optically pure.
