Just in time for Black Friday and holiday gift shopping, many different department stores and jewelry designers are giving truck shows.
The term trunk sale dates back to earlier times when traveling salesmen would roam around the countryside selling everything from home remedy potions to pots and pans and clothes. In the present, this is a special sale where a particular designer or style of design is shown on a limited basis.

The Pendant Show, highlighting pendants from the Lark Publication, 500 Pendants and Lockets, runs through November 30. Featured jewelry artist Jillian Moore’s brooches and pendants will also be available for sale.
Jillian Moore describes her jewelry as anthropomorphic. That is, her jewelry forms take on shapes that are very reminiscent of human organs. Copper and silver pieces are electroformed then manually manipulated to represent a form of human emotion within each piece.
Electroforming is the process of using a wax mold, metal and electrical current to shape the metal into the form of the mold.
Patina Gallery – Santa Fe, NM
Their Rockstar show featuring raw and cut diamond jewelry artist Todd Reed runs from December 5 through January 4. If you are not familiar with his work, his name is synonymous with raw diamond jewelry. The designer’s original raw diamond concept was built around the diamond industry’s 2-month salary campaign for engagement rings. Todd Reed is eco-friendly, creating jewelry fabricated from recycled 18K gold and conflict-free diamonds from Sierra Leone.
