If you near in or near Philadelphia here are some of the classes that will be given at beadfest at the Valley Forge Convention Center.
August 23:
- Kiln Formed Dichroic Glass - You will learn how to form the beads and use actual kilns to make your beads. Should be a fun class.
- Flameworking - Totems and Tikis - Totems and their meaning are a particular favorite of mine. In this class you will be using sculptured beads to create totems or tikis.
August 24: Crystal Ring Making - touted as an excellent class for beginners.
August 25, 2007:
- The Five Secrets to Selling Handcrafted Jewelry. This class will probably sell out quite early so reserve now to make sure that you have a seat. This 3-hour lecture will be given by Lapidary Journal Jewelry Artist and Step by Step Beads marketing director Dr. David Weiman. His goal in the three house will be to teach you the strategies you need to become a more confident, seller of your jewelry.
- Ruffled Bracelet Class - ruffled bracelet made with a matching toggle clasp.
The expo itself will be held August 24th through August 26. However, if there are any classes in which you are particularly interested I would go to the website - the link is shown above - and sign up for the classes now.
