I mentioned wearing black wedding gowns for an evening wedding as being an occasion trend. Flipping through the Spring/Summer 2007 edition of Wedding Style magazine I found a very interesting looking black lace wedding gown by Pnina Tornai on page 46.
I picked up the magazine at either Borders or Barnes and Noble. If you have one of these bookstores convenient it is worth trolling the racks so you can check out this wedding gown. It kind of reminded me of a really vamped up version of the hat and gown worn by Scarlett O'Hara during the scene in Gone With the Wind where she is working the charity booth at the dance and Rhett Butler bids on her for the first dance.
The model is wearing a very goth looking black onyx beaded necklace with a large two tiered dangling pendant. This outfit and necklace, while not everyone's cup of tea, is a perfect example of coordinating jewelry to the gown and veil (in this case a large black head arrangement with feathers and netting).
There is a lot going on with this gown and head ornament - the simple beaded black onyx necklace does not compete with but compliments the gown. The two tiered pendant is not too detailed but picks up the lace theme of the dress and opera length gloves.
The whole outfit is black, stunning and stylish. Wear this look as a bride and your wedding will be talked about years later.
Note: Sorry, I searched around online to see if I could link to either the dress or the designer's website - no luck - however, here is a link to the online presence for the magazine itself.
