I was flipping through a recent Glamour magazine dos and don't - I love those pictures with the black rectangles over the eyes. I can not even image how horrifying it must be to actually see yourself as a black bar don't. Horrifying but amusing I would imagine in kind of a mixed up sort of way.
Glamour more that likely was the inspiration for all those how to style yourself shows on the various cable channels. Which I also love. My favorite is the TLC version of BBCs What Not to Wear. It is annoying how depressed the fashion victims get about spending $5,000 during the course of the shopping trip.
A few of the Glamour top picks were visible panty lines, bib overalls, mesh tops - then oversized earrings. It got me thinking - how big is too big. Obviously, if the earring is stretching out your piercing or giving you a headache, whatever the size it is too big.
Another criteria for the size of earring is your overall facial size and feature type. Those with delicate features and a small bone structure obviously need to scale down the size of the earring. Also, the shape of your face and the way you are wearing your hair will have an effective on how large the earrings can be.
Best rule of thumb in my opinion is to use the trying on technique outlined in my earring article. In short, hold each pair of earrings up to your face and take a good hard look. The earring should compliment your face, not overwhelm it.
