My last blog discussed signature styles in jewelry. Watching celebrity signature style is a little hobby of mine that falls in line with my interest in the ritual and historic use of jewelry.
Every female should think about adopting a signature style of jewelry. Men do not have as many options open to them as women - rings, watches - not much is going on. But women have a plethora of different ways to go.
On those days that you are pressed for time it really uncomplicates your morning to already have some sort of jewelry battleplan in place. For example, my signature style now is earrings and has been for the past few years. I have a pair of diamond studs and a pair of karated gold hoop earrings that pretty much go with all my outfits. Most days you will see me in one or the other.
About ten years ago I briefly adopted watches as my signature style. My favorite was a Swatch brand Halloween watch with a pumpkin face that I wore for the entire month of October each year. Well, this was a great idea until each watch needed a new battery at a different time. If I could change the batteries myself it would not have been such a big deal but it became such a pain to take the watches to the jewelry store that I eventually just replaced all the batteries at once and gave the bulk of the watches to Goodwill.
I still have the Swatch pumpkin watch to the amusement of my son who thinks it is the ugliest watch he has ever seen. And I occasionally think about buying a men's vintage Rolex to wear as a bracelet/watch but for now I am sticking with the earrings.
